Why Magnolias Grow on Trees
Long ago, The God of Flowers fell in love with The Goddess of Soil. Their union was blessed by The Sun God and the Sky who celebrated them by giving them rain. The God of Flowers loved The Goddess of Soil so deeply that a flower was created, a magnolia. Every time it rained, a large white flower would sprout from the earth. The long-stemmed flowers were so beautiful with deep verdant leaves and a bud so large that it made all other flowers tiny by comparison. When the wind blew, the aroma of the flower kissed the air, like fragrant sweet oranges. The God of Flowers vowed that The Goddess of Soil would be able to feel his love every time a magnolia bloomed. The Goddess of Soil felt adored, even more so when fields of magnolias emerged after storms.
